The region

There are lots of places to visit locally including markets in various places along the coast such as Benidorm , El Vergel Safari Park, Denia where you can take the ferries to Ibiza and Majorca, and many more. The town boasts many historic features and is well worth a visit. Oliva is surrounded by sea, mountains, rivers and a nature reserve. The Nature Park of Oliva-Pego Marsh has a dune system. It is composed of swamp areas and paddy fields. The formation of this park is due to the silting process that made the lagoon and later went on to make the current marsh. This is an area with numerous reed rafts of clean water being traversed by two rivers the Bullent, which borders the marsh to the north and Racons, located south. With its fauna and flora the Nature Park has an important ecological value. Near the Natural Park is the Fountain Salada, a hot spring with healing properties for the skin.
